Biotech Park organizes “Research to Business” workshop to promote Bio entrepreneurship

A unique workshop where “young minds” graduate, post graduates and post-doctoral students pinned down their bright idea on a paper, which were judged by a jury panel consisting experts from economics, business management and biotechnology. Five “Bright Idea” were selected. The selected participants presented the idea before another panel of expert and three best were selected. There were:-    

  1. Rajesh Kumar, Biotech Park Lucknow.  
  2. Ritu Srivastava, Lucknow University.
  3. Kashif Khan Biotech Park, Lucknow.

Welcoming the participants and guests, Dr. P.K.Seth, CEO Biotech Park, Lucknow said that Lucknow is one of the most knowledge rich Life Sciences resources cluster of India but is missing entrepreneurship among the youth due to which we do not have many start ups like in other states. Biotech Park has therefore taken the initiate to encourage young researchers to imbibe the competitive spirit among them. The Park will inform them about resource persons who can help to build the idea, and funding sources government or non government.  Such workshops will be organized regularly monthly or bimonthly depending upon the response. If needed a small team of experts will visit the interested institutions, colleges and universities to guide them to protect their research and patent novel findings encourage the students & faculty for entrepreneurship.  One such workshop has organized at Amity University research, Lucknow.
Dr. Q Rahman, Dean Research, Amity university, Lucknow congratulated Biotech Park for holding the workshop, She said we have bright minds but lack the ecosystem, which may encourage entrepreneurship. She said government and industry should come forward to create the echosystem.
Dr C.V. Singh, Vice President, Tata Motors Lucknow shared his experiences that how a little training can enhance the core competence and the company could take several construction jobs
Prof. Manoj Joshi Professor of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Amity Business School, Lucknow said to become an entrepreneur on has to have passion, competence and understating of the business or the related area. He said most important aspect is self confidence.
Mr. Neeraj Agrawal, M.D. SRM Techsol highlighting the key points said the person should discuss their ideas with other experts in the field. They may begin with their family. One should not fear as failures are bound to happen and these failures make one strong and lead to success. He talked about how he has set up his for successful ventures.
There were 54 competitors which included Amity University, GCRG, Nature Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow University, and Biotech Park, Jhunjhunwala Group of Colleges, Faizabad. A total of 100 person participated in the workshop.
