Technology Incubator: An Opulent Window

Biotech Park has Department of Scientific and industrial Research (DSIR) recognition and is registered under National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), New Delhi which accords approval for exemption of Service Tax to Park and its incubates. It also has environmental Clearance from Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board. The Incubator – I and II of Biotech Park are ISO 14001:2004 certified and offers state of the art facilities to startups for incubation and development of innovation led, high growth, knowledge based biobusiness and infrastructure facilities for setting biotech industries. The Biotech Park facilities include NABL accredited analytical & quality assurance laboratory, molecular & microbiology laboratories; plant tissue culture, biopesticides & biofertilizers units and GLP compliant solvent extraction pilot plant with downstream process facility. The technology know how and laboratory facilities in the area of modern biotechnology of neighbouring centres of knowledge creation such as CSIR and ICAR laboratories, IIT Kanpur, UPCST, universities and medical institutions are also available to the entrepreneurs.

These include NABL accredited toxicity testing facility following GLP & AGLP conforming Animal House at Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, High Throughput Screening System and other modern drug discovery & drug designing tools at Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, pilot Plant facility for herbal formulation at National Botanical Research Institute and bioevaluation facility for plant products of Central Institute of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, Lucknow. This enables the Park and its incubates to compete for research grants and financial support from agencies like DST, DBT, BIPP and BIRAC, etc.
