The workshop on Skill to Entrepreneurship - The Next Level was jointly organized by Biotech Park, Lucknow & St. Edmund's College, Shillong under the aegis of IBSD, Imphal between 12th -15th March 2019 at St. Edmund's College. Dr. Abhijit Sharma, Director, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati was the chief guest. He stated that entrepreneurs take risk to bring about changes for the benefit of the society. Prof. Pramod Tandon, CEO, Biotech Park, stressed the need for sustainable utilization of rich bioresources for entrepreneurial activities and gainful self-employment in the North East India. Dr. Sylvanus Lamare, Principal, Bro. Simon Coelho, Dr. Samrat Adhikari of St. Edmund's College and Prof. Rishi Shanker & Mr. Shyam Kumar were the other dignitaries.
The expert faculty & mentors of 9 institutions delivered lectures and interacted with the budding entrepreneurs. The guest faculty lectures addressed creativity, innovation, pitching an idea, entrepreneurship: risk and challenges, bioresources to bioeconomy, venture creation, preparation of viable business plan, discussion on business plan & business model, proposal writing, marketing strategies, funding opportunities in NE. A range of activities such as puzzles, crossword, quizzes, presentation on creativity, idea generation, business plan & entrepreneurship were intrinsic components of the workshop. Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo, Director, IBSD talked about tapping rich bioresources available in North East during the visit of participants to IBSD, Shillong campus.
