The three-day workshop on Product diversification of Bio-resources of Sikkim was jointly organized by Biotech Park, Lucknow & Sikkim University, Gangtok under the aegis of IBSD, Imphal, Department of Biotechnology, GoI, 19th – 21st September 2019 at Department of Horticulture, Sikkim University, Gangtok
Dr. Niladri Bag, Head, Department of Horticulture welcomed Prof. Jyoti Prakash Tamang, Dean, School of Life Sciences, faculty and participants of the workshop. Prof. Tamang delivered the keynote address that emphasized the importance of bioresources of Sikkim. Dr. Laxuman Sharma talked about the Indigenous crop dynamics for product diversification. The other expert faculty delivered lectures on Bioresources of Sikkim. The expert faculty, Dr. Karma D. Bhutia and Dr. Manju Rana carried out a range of demonstration and training of participants for on-bench preparation and packaging of products using available bioresources. The programme concluded with certificate distribution and valedictory function.
