A highly interactive workshop: Aspire to be an Entrepreneur! from 14th-16th May, 2019 was organized at Biotech Park, Lucknow. Prof. Rishi Shanker, Coordinator of the workshop welcomed the dignitaries & participants in the inaugural session and talked about the genesis of the workshop.
The Chief Guest of Inaugural session, Ms. Ritu Dubey, CEO, SIDBI Centre for Innovation IIM Lucknow & Guest of Honor Prof. V.P Kamboj, Chairman BCIL & former Director, CSIR-CDRI encouraged the participants to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in the area of Biotechnology & Life Sciences.
The workshop in the six sessions instilled confidence amongst students to help them discover their hidden potential in creative & innovative thinking. The entrepreneurship workshop served as platform for students to learn the critical steps in entrepreneurial paradigm from the crystallization of an idea to IPR portfolio and a business plan, to team building and exploring funding opportunities for a startup.
The
participants presented their ideas and plan for the entrepreneurial activity that could be a very active startup. The insights on the entrepreneurial world were provided to the participants by invited expert faculty such as Ms. Ritu Dubey, CEO, SIDBI Centre for Innovation (IIM Lucknow), Dr. Somesh Mehra, Entrepreneur & Patent Attorney (accredited by the Controller General of Patents, Design & Trade Marks, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GoI), Mr. Taranjeet Singh, Chief Manager, Vijaya Bank(BoB), Lucknow. The Chief Guest talked about the partnership, equity and teamwork for a successful entrepreneurial enterprise. Prof. Rishi Shanker & Mr. Shyam Kumar served as in house faculty and conducted the workshop with interactive presentations, quizzes, puzzles and motivational videos.
The Chief Guest of Valedictory session, Prof. P.K. Seth, founder CEO, Biotech Park, Lucknow & former Director, CSIR-IITR, Lucknow talked about the simple ideas that translate to innovation in food & agriculture biotechnology. The Chief Guest felicitated the participants with certificates and the team of student entrepreneurs from KG Medical University were adjudged the "Best Budding Students Entrepreneurs". Mr. Shyam Kumar Co-coordinator of workshop summed up the interactive activities of the workshop and delivered the vote of thanks.
