The three-day workshop on Value Addition to Rich Bioresources of North-East Region was jointly organized by Biotech Park, Lucknow & St. Anthony's College, Shillong under the aegis of IBSD, Imphal, Department of Biotechnology, GoI, 14th -17th September 2019 at St. Anthony's College.
Prof. S.M Syemlieh of SAC welcomed Prof. Pramod Tandon, CEO, Biotech Park, Lucknow, faculty and participants of the workshop. Prof. Pramod Tandon delivered the inaugural address that emphasized on sustainable utilization of rich bioresources for innovation, entrepreneurial activities and self-employment. Dr. C.S Rao, coordinator of workshop talked about the need for the value addition to the bioresources in Meghalaya. The expert faculty delivered lectures on Ideas and Innovation, Entrepreneurship development; Plant Bioresources of Meghalaya; Harvesting, Processing and value addition to Agri-horti products; Biotechnological approach in value additions to Bioresources; diagnostic tools in value addition; Orchids growing and their value additions & Vermicomposting. The expert interacted with the participants through puzzles and quizzes and idea presentation. The programme concluded with certificate distribution and valedictory function.
